Gastroenterology, as a branch of Internal Medicine, includes the treatment of gastrointestinal tract
disorders.
Early diagnosis, complementary therapies and aftercare of
diseases of the small and large intestine, the liver and the
pancreas are part of the service spectrum being offered.
Ultrasound, x-ray examinations and endoscopic procedures are
part of diagnostics. Endoscopic procedures are used in
diagnostics as well as operative procedures.
The ‘Darmzentrum Ruhr’ (specialized „Colon-Therapy-Center“ of the Catholic St. Lukas Hospital-Society) and the ‘Darmzentrum Dortmund’ (specialized „Colon-Therapy-Center“ of the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Dortmund) are certified by the “German Cancer Society”.
