urology and andrology include the diagnosis and therapy of
bladder and prostate ailments.
Modern and standardised tumour surgeries of benign as well
as malign tumours of the prostate, the urinary tract and the
urinary bladder are part of the treatment.
Surgical techniques include minimally invasive urology,
endoscopic and video procedures, high-intensity focused
ultrasound (HIFU) therapy for prostate cancer, the
transurethral resection of the prostate and the urinary
bladder (TUR).
The ‘Prostate Centre Dortmund Ost’ was one of the first
centres in Germany certified by the German Cancer Society
following its strict criteria (OnkoZert).
